Alan Schlossberg
President/CEO

Alan Schlossberg is an expert in the highly specialized field of media barter with over 35 years experience. He has successfully negotiated tens of thousands of barter agreements with media companies according to the most stringent planning and buying guidelines for product categories including retail, travel, entertainment, health care, financial, automotive, restaurants, education, home building, transportation, media, and food and beverage.

Before founding BarterAds in 2008, Alan was a Partner at Kelly, Scott & Madison, Inc., Chicago, a leading independent media company. At KSM Alan held numerous senior level positions during his 20 year tenure including directing the company’s barter (trade) department, managing the firm’s spot broadcast buying, billing and human resources departments, and serving as COO.

Alan began his career with the William B. Tanner Company/Memphis, the largest media barter firm in the industry. At Tanner Alan was V.P. Television, responsible for the company’s spot television buying department. He also served as V.P. Media Negotiations with responsibility for generating barter credits with media companies.

His career includes significant broadcast industry experience in both national and local broadcast sales and sales management including Sales Manager for Group W Broadcasting National Radio Sales in Chicago and New York and later General Sales Manager, WIND Radio/Chicago. At Petry Television Sales in New York, Alan held numerous positions including Director of the company’s syndication division and Director of Sports.

Alan’s experience on the agency and the media sides of the desk combined with the ability to bring this unique perspective to the media barter process allows him to understand and achieve the goals of both clients and media companies.
